So, We Appeared in The New York Times...

That paper bag is actually his flesh, utterly reliable sources suggest

We're still here. Not only that, but we showed up in a New York Times article, surrounded by far more famous and amazing people. The reason? Well, as you may or may not know, the last couple of months saw a resurgence of interest in Thomas Pynchon, our favourite author-God. Shadow Ticket, his latest novel since 2013's Bleeding Edge, was published in October. Moreover, Paul Thomas Anderson's film One Battle After Another, inspired by Pynchon's Vineland, was released in theatres to widespread acclaim.

Due to all this mini-zeitgeist, we were invited by journalist Tim Teeman to share our favourite moments of Pynchon's oeuvre for his article. Our games are very much influenced by the man's works, especially Personal Rocket (the title is a direct quote from Gravity's Rainbow). Petrophobia, one of our free games, is partly inspired by a passage from the door-stopper Against the Day.

Many years ago we entertained the idea of making an adaptation of The Crying of Lot 49 into a point-and-click adventure game, as a freeware passion project (we wouldn't even dream of asking for the rights... back then ;). Maybe it's time to entertain the idea again?

Oh, here's the link to the article.

And here you can get a glimpse of it in print version, from Tim's Instagram:
